The 5th Iran Cosmetica, held at Tehran’s Olympic Hotel, brought together companies from across the cosmetics, hygiene, and detergent industries. Representing Herbanol, the research and development subsidiary of Binalood Golden Oil Company, we met more than 70 exhibitors and spoke with attendees among the roughly 12,000 people who passed through the event. It was a useful vantage point on where the cosmetics sector is heading and how our work fits into it.
What We Focused On
Two themes drew most of our attention: the move toward more eco-friendly products, and newer methods for extracting natural ingredients. Both sit close to Herbanol’s purpose. Natural antioxidants depend on extraction processes that preserve the active compounds, and formulators are increasingly looking for plant-based ingredients that perform well without synthetic additives. The talks and conversations broadened our understanding of these trends and opened early discussions about future partnerships, all of which feed back into our R&D.
Our Natural Antioxidants
At Iran Cosmetica we introduced Herbanol’s natural antioxidants for edible oils and cosmetics, which are currently in development. Drawn from plant sources, they are designed to neutralize the free radicals that turn oils rancid and contribute to visible skin aging, offering an alternative to synthetic stabilizers. As part of the Binalood group, our work centers on selecting effective plant-based actives and confirming their stability and performance under responsible, well-documented practices. Connections in the Beauty Industry
Beyond presenting our own work, the event was a chance to build relationships with others working toward more sustainable practices. We had detailed conversations about the industry’s environmental responsibilities, from ingredient sourcing and safety to reducing waste, and shared how Herbanol approaches these questions: lowering environmental impact, ensuring product safety, and operating to clear ethical standards. These are not side concerns for us; they shape which ingredients and processes we choose to pursue.
Collaboration and Engagement
The event also created openings for collaboration with partners who share our focus on community and responsible business. Several discussions returned to the role of natural antioxidants in cosmetics, and in particular their part in countering oxidative stress, which is a central theme of our research. Exchanges like these help us test our thinking against the wider market and see where our ingredients could add the most value.
We left Iran Cosmetica with a stronger network and a clearer sense of where natural antioxidants fit in the cosmetics market. Those connections support our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility as we continue to develop our products.
